DMA (Distribution Market Advantage, Inc.) is pleased to announce that Saladino’s Foodservice and SGC Foodservice have joined DMA as its two newest distributor members. DMA has now added five new members to its network in the past twelve months and will continue to grow its supply chain and distribution capabilities to service multi-unit chain restaurants, hospitality and healthcare foodservice customers. The network now consists of thirteen of the nation’s finest regional, independently-owned companies and enters the new decade with renewed focus on operator’s success.
Today, Saladino’s is the largest independently-owned foodservice distributor in California, delivering quality products and services to its customers. Headquartered in Fresno, it operates distribution centers in West Sacramento, Fresno and Ontario to service restaurants throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and Oregon.
SGC, originally called Springfield Grocery Company, has been an independently-owned, family-operated distributor since 1865. With over 150 years of experience in the foodservice industry, SGC services restaurants, healthcare and education channels in more in eight midwestern states. SGC headquarters and distribution center is in Springfield, Missouri.
“We are excited to join our industry leading peers and strengthen DMA’s distribution presence in the west. Foodservice customers need focused partners and together we can offer best in class capabilities and position our customers for long term success and growth,” said Craig Saladino, CEO of Saladino Foodservice.
Jeff Tynes, CEO of SGC commented, “We have accelerated our geographic coverage, our technology, our product and service capabilities and our team over the past decade. By aligning with DMA, we will continue to grow and add the very best partners and customers, helping them realize their vision and growth in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
“Craig and Jeff both run successful, growing, customer-focused businesses. They are a big complement to the network that is DMA today; as regional and multi-regional experts taking care of multi-unit customers. We are very excited about having them join our family,” commented DMA CEO Pat Mulhern.
In the past five years, DMA members have made remarkable investments to their operations and capacity to accommodate their continued growth. These investments have taken DMA and its owners into 23 new markets:
These members also have internal plans to add 2.3 million square feet and open another five new distribution centers over the next 30 months. “Because we are a private entity, made up of private distributors, our members have quietly accelerated their growth in physical capacity while helping multi-unit operators prosper. Our support to industry leading multi-unit operators continues to get stronger as we add great new members,” said Pat Mulhern.
